Madrid, New Mexico

2013 - 2014

The Oscar Huber Memorial Ballpark is a historic property located in Madrid, New Mexico. The ballpark was used by the Madrid Miners baseball team when Madrid was a thriving mining community. Today Madrid is a small eclectic artist community.

Phase 1 was completed in 2009 and consisted of rebuilding the perimeter foundation and grandstand shell including a new roof. Additional funds would need to be raised to finish the project in its entirety.

Santa Fe County raised additional funds which led to Phase 2. Phase 2 consisted of constructing the bleacher seating and stairs, ADA parking area and accessible path, required electrical work and a buried rainwater collection system. The goal was to obtain a certificate of occupancy to ensure this historic structure could be used for community events.

Phase 2:

- Project Management

- Document Production / Permit Set

- Code and ADA research

- Communications with State Historic Preservation Office

- Worked with community leaders and Santa Fe County
